Rules of the Road

The overriding concern of the organizers is your safety, so please...

Don't
run or walk more than three abreast making it difficult for others to pass. It is dangerous and inconsiderate.

Don't stop or walk on the left side of the road. If you are in a jogger wave and need to walk, move to the right side of the road.

Don't bring bicycles, in-line skates, baby strollers, baby joggers, little red wagons or anything else with wheels.

Don't wear a headset (radio, cassette, CD, iPod, etc.)

Don't bring your pet.

Don't chat on your cell phone while running (yes...we've seen this happen!)

Do keep up the pace. All participants need to have passed the intersection of Walnut and Folsom by 10:50am. Look for the 'course cut off' volunteers in bright yellow vests, and stay ahead of them!

Do participate in a wheelchair if you are prepared for the course distance and difficulty. Wheelchairs propelled by the race participant are recommended; motorized and electric wheelchairs are not permitted.

Do bring the family! You can bring your baby along in a backpack ( for safety reasons, baby joggers or strollers aren't allowed on the course or in the stadium).

Do wear a costume if you like, but no part of it may extend so it might interfere with other participants. Costumes or props connecting two or more runners (e.g. centipedes) are prohibited.

Do train for the race. You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on 6.2 miles. Join spring training and we can help.

Smile for the camera. brightroom.com will be taking your race photo at the start area, at the finish, and at the brightroom.com expo booth.
