Memorial Day Tribute
BolderBOULDER is proud to be a part of the Memorial Day tradition. Since its inception, the race has dedicated much of the festivities to honoring veterans and remembering those who have given their lives defending and preserving our freedom.
The Memorial Day Tribute in Folsom Field is one of the largest Memorial Day gatherings in the United States. Our tribute following the citizen's race includes the presentation of the Nation's Colors, a 21-gun salute, recognition of the men and women who have served our country in our Armed Forces, and Taps. The celebration closes with a flyover by four U.S. Military jets and the singing of our National Anthem.

Honoring Those Who Have Served - BolderBOULDER has dedicated three special waves to those participants who are members or veterans of the United States military. Join us in the "M" wave if you are a runner or in the "P" wave if you are a jog/walker.

Stadium Recognition - Active military and veterans will be honored during the Memorial Day Tribute. All veterans and active military personnel are invited to sit in a special section at the top of section 109 on the west side of Folsom Field.
BolderBOULDER Memorial Back Bib - A special "back bib" has been created for any participant who would like to run the race in honor of a family member or friend who proudly served their country. Memorial Back Bibs are available at either of the BolderBOULDER stores. They will also be available on race morning at the help desk and at the start line registration area.
History of Memorial Day - Memorial Day, formerly known as Decoration Day, is a legal holiday that is celebrated on the last Monday in May in the United States. Memorial Day was first observed on May 30, 1868 for the purpose of decorating the graves of those killed in the American Civil War. Today, Memorial Day is a day to honor all those soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who have served us in the past, are serving us in the present, and will serve us in the future.
